This being human is a guest house
Every morning a new arrival

Welcome and entertain them all

Be grateful for whatever comes
Because each has been sent as a guide from beyond

calm, trust, empathy, and professional support.jpg

Life’s challenges—whether personal, relational, or professional—can feel overwhelming. You may feel stuck, anxious, or unsure of your next step. In a warm, thoughtful space, I work collaboratively with you to explore what’s happening beneath the surface, gain clarity, and develop practical tools for meaningful change. Together, we’ll uncover patterns that hold you back, strengthen your trust in your instincts, and nurture your unique strengths. Whether you’re navigating past wounds, self-doubt, or fear of change, my goal is to help you feel understood, empowered, and supported as you move toward a more grounded, fulfilling life. With a background in psychoanalytic therapy and the arts, I work with individuals, couples, and families on challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relational difficulties, and major life transitions. Our work is always paced around your needs, your process, and your goals, so that change happens in a way that feels authentic and sustainable. If you feel ready, I invite you to schedule a brief consultation so we can explore whether we’re a good fit and how I might best support you on your journey.

BIOGRAPHY

ABOUT

Miriam’s diverse background in the arts and psychology shapes a therapeutic approach that is both insightful and deeply human. She draws from these perspectives to help individuals and families navigate complex emotional terrain while fostering curiosity, reflection, and lasting growth. Miriam holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and completed four years of intensive post-graduate training in psychoanalytic theory at VCC. With this foundation, she helps clients work through anxiety, self-doubt, unresolved pain, and relationship struggles—guiding them toward greater emotional freedom and connection with their strengths. Whether you’re new to therapy or returning after previous experiences, Miriam meets you where you are—with sensitivity, insight, and respect for your individual journey. Her aim is to create a space where you can feel seen, supported, and empowered to make meaningful, lasting change.

EXPERIENCE

Miriam earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology and completed her clinical training at Valley Community Clinic in North Hollywood, where she received extensive supervision in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. She has worked with adolescents, adults, and couples navigating anxiety, depression, eating disorders, obsessive patterns, and relationship difficulties.

Her early work at Professional Assessment and Treatment Services (PATS) provided specialized experience with survivors of trauma, including sexual abuse, domestic violence, and intergenerational trauma—work that continues to inform her trauma-sensitive and empathic approach. Miriam has advanced training in psychoanalytic theory through the Psychoanalytic Center of California (PCC) and has completed Level 1 of the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy. Her ongoing study and clinical development reflect a deep commitment to helping clients gain self-understanding, heal from the past, and cultivate more authentic, fulfilling relationships.

INSURANCE AND FEES

I am in-network with UnitedHealthcare, Optum, and Aetna. For clients with other insurance plans (out-of-network), I can provide a superbill for reimbursement. Reimbursement amounts vary by plan, so please check with your insurance company for your coverage details. Psychotherapy may also be tax-deductible depending on your financial situation; consult your accountant for guidance. Before starting therapy, we will review your insurance benefits, including deductibles, copays, and coverage for psychotherapy. Please note that I charge for initial consultations that include evaluation and treatment planning, as required by insurance.

If you’d like to explore working together, we can schedule an initial session to see if we are a good fit. This session allows you to experience my approach and discuss a fee structure that works for you. I offer both in-person and online sessions. If you need to reschedule, please provide 48 hours’ notice to avoid a session fee. Out-of-network rates: Individual session (50 minutes): $200- Couples session: $250
